FORTNUM & MASON

CORONATION COLLECTION

Exploring the Coronation Range

A Special Moment in Time

Lucy was chosen to work alongside two other fine artists on the Fortnum and Mason Coronation Collection for King Charles III. As part of the design brief she was asked to create noble, yet beautiful beasts featuring regal colour palettes and medieval motifs to express the British heritage for such a special moment in our history.

She hoped to create something that people could cherish and pass down to future generations just as she does with the art that she creates and the rich traditions that are embedded within it.

"It's an honour to be apart of this special moment in time"

The Making of the Art

Keeping the Past Alive

Lucy used hand-made paints to create vibrant, rich colours in her work.

She bases her work on Medieval traditions and processes on how to turn minerals, plants, and vegetables into paint.

Shells are used to hold the hand-made watercolour paints.

24 carat gold leaf is applied as a paint to some of Lucy's paintings.
