The Lionheart
The Lionheart has been painted using traditional techniques found in late‑medieval panel painting. The work is executed in natural egg tempera bound with handmade pigments, including Afghan Lapis Lazuli, and enriched with 23.75‑carat gold leaf and hand‑ground palladium shell gold. The image is painted on a gessoed wooden panel, echoing the craftsmanship of medieval devotional art.

Inspired by the Wilton Diptych, this panel is painted in natural egg tempera using handmade pigments and stippled 24‑carat gold leaf on a custom‑made gessoed wooden panel. The work draws on the luminous techniques of late‑medieval devotional painting.
